Description:

Two positions. “John Jay College of Criminal Justice invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Sociology, to begin in Fall 2027. We are seeking:

A sociologist with expertise and an active research agenda in race and ethnicity and/or key subfields in sociology through the lens of race and ethnicity (e.g., sociology of education, gender, sexualities, sociology of the family, urban sociology, environmental sociology, sociology of work, culture). Candidates with quantitative skills are preferred.”

A criminologist with expertise and an active research agenda in criminological theory and the intersection of criminal law and race and/or crime and racial subjectivities. Candidates with quantitative skills are preferred.
