“Candidates must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. in American history by August 15, 2025. We will also consider Ph.Ds. in other geographical fields of history as long as their research demonstrates a sustained engagement with and expertise in the history of the United States. In addition to upper-level and graduate courses in U.S. and Global History, the ability to teach survey courses in the general education curriculum in pre-modern and/or modern history is essential.” “At the College of Charleston, diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to our mission and strategic plan. Recent initiatives that support this goal include the creation of the Center for the Study of Slavery, SC LGBTQ+ Archives, and a Committee on Commemoration and Landscapes.“
