“The ideal candidate is an African-centered scholar who will be able to teach sections of Introduction to Africana Studies, with focus on Nile Valley Civilizations and the long African/Black social justice origins and development of the discipline, including the Black Power, African-centered, and Africana Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies movements. The Africana Studies program is especially interested in candidates who can also teach any combination of the following upper-level courses and subject areas: Classical African Civilization; African Extended Family; African American Family; Africana Men’s Studies; Africana Genders and Sexualities; African American Community; Political Economy of the African American Community; Political Economy of African Nations; or Research Methods in Africana Studies.”
