“The primary focus of applicants’ teaching and research should be American literature before 1900, with a preference for teaching experience and/or publication involving texts published prior to the Civil War. We are interested in a candidate who could contribute to one or more of the following secondary areas: multicultural literature (including African American, Asian American, and/or Indigenous American literature), transatlantic/global studies pre-1900, Appalachian/regional studies, gender and sexuality studies, disability studies, ecocriticism, and digital humanities.”
