Description:
“We are particularly interested in candidates who can strengthen interdisciplinary connections with other units across the University of Iowa. The successful candidate will join a vibrant intellectual community with faculty from diverse research backgrounds, including three main departmental areas: (1) interpersonal communication and relationships, (2) media history and culture, and (3) rhetoric, culture, and engagement.” Desirable qualifications include the “[a]bility to articluate how one’s research program and teaching address the intersection of environment, health, and communication, in particular drawing from any of the following (or related) contexts: Health justice movements that address environmental, racial, reproductive, and/or disability justice; gender and class in health contexts; labor, health, and food systems in rural or agricultural contexts; environmental exposure and chronic illness; peace, war, and conflict and intersections with environment; power and resilience; nature and wellbeing; environmental restoration and repair; global movements for climate justice, all regions considered with a particular interest in Global South/Global Majority.” Must have a PhD in Communications or a related field by start date.
