“We welcome those candidates with an interdisciplinary approach and are particularly interested in those whose work focuses on one or more of the following areas: 

Ecocriticism and Environmental Humanities, including climate change and its impact on the Caribbean islands, and the ecological legacies of colonialism and modernity

Hispanophone Caribbean Literature and Culture; 

Diaspora and Migration Studies, exploring transnational identities, migration, and the global influence of Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Cuban communities;

Afro-Caribbean and Indigenous Studies, focusing on African heritage, indigenous legacies, and the intersections of race, religion, and identity in the Caribbean; 

Gender, Sexuality, and Queer Studies, addressing issues of gender, sexuality, and LGBTQ+ identities within Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Cuban contexts; 

Postcolonial and Decolonial Studies, examining the legacies of colonialism, U.S. imperialism, and anti-colonial movements in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba; 

Ecocriticism and Environmental Humanities, including climate change and its impact on the Caribbean islands, and the ecological legacies of colonialism and modernity
