“We seek candidates with expertise in Black vernacular and/or Black art music, including, for instance, jazz, hip-hop, blues, R&B, gospel, and soul, and an ability to teach introductory music theory and analysis. The position welcomes scholars engaged in new approaches to studying music, including technologically enhanced research methodologies, performance as a research method, and examining intersections between music, race, class, gender, government policy, and cultural practice.”
