“We seek a dedicated candidate with a Ph.D. in American Studies (or closely related field), emphasizing African/African Diaspora cultural studies as their primary area of expertise and teaching interest. Ability to teach courses in film and media studies is required. Being attentive to the needs of our academic field and our commitment to diversify our curricular offerings, we are especially interested in interdisciplinary scholars that may offer introductory or advanced courses in subfields such as Caribbean and global Black diasporic cultural lives, both Atlantic and Pacific. Candidates with a focus on material culture studies, visual culture studies, and gender studies are particularly encouraged to apply.”
