“We welcome applications from candidates who concentrate on the broadly defined oceanic and land-based Caribbean and Latin American regions, encompassing the diverse array of cultural and linguistic currents of the  region’s African-descended  communities.  Applicable fields may include, but aren’t limited to: history; literary, cultural, media or film studies; Black or African and African American studies; social and cultural anthropology; linguistics; music; performance studies; religious studies; philosophy; environmental humanities; dance; art history or visual studies; creative writing; women, gender, sexuality or queer studies; or  photography.”
