“Successful applications will demonstrate a general knowledge of American literature combined with strengths and commitments in linking local forms of cultural and literary production within histories of diasporic, ethnic, indigeneity, and/or migration studies.” “Strong candidates will exhibit a record of scholarship and teaching pertaining to American literature, writ large, with specializations in African-American, Asian-American, Latino/a, American Indian literature, or Literature of the Americas.” “We especially encourage applicants who are engaged in teaching and research that addresses themes of social justice, which may include critical/theoretical models such as critical race studies, LGBTQIA+ studies, indigenous studies, or ecocriticism.”
