“Committed to understanding contemporary and historical cultural change and its individual and social consequences, the Institute supports the development of early career scholars and provides intellectual leadership in service to the common good. In its twenty-seven-year history, the Institute has funded research projects on, for example, political culture and democracy, social and critical theories of modernity, moral philosophy and the public sphere, philosophical anthropology and religious experience, and human development and the making of the modern self in education.” The three phenomenology labs are Culture Lab, Survey Lab, and Thriving Cities Lab.
