“We invite applications from scholars who work at the intersections of critical race studies and film/media studies. Candidates are expected to have demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas, with a clear focus on media and race: data studies; media industries; emergent technologies/STS (e.g. computer-based algorithms, AI, sensors, CGI); environmental media; gender and sexuality studies; radical and revolutionary traditions (e.g., Black Marxism, Subaltern studies, decolonial epistemologies); critical ethnic studies; Indigenous studies; critical legal studies; biopolitics and governance; sports studies; cultural studies; or other critical approaches foregrounding the intersection of media and race, ethnicity, class, or caste.”
